The Favor of God

From Mornings with Tess – August 25, 2025

Beloved, as we step into a new week, I prayed this morning that you would capture a fresh revelation: you are soaked and saturated with the fragrance of Heaven’s favor.

Mondays can be tough—our minds rush ahead to to-do lists, responsibilities, and all the challenges waiting for us. But here’s the truth I want you to hold in your heart: because you belong to Jesus, you already carry the favor of God.

Psalm 5:12 tells us:
“For You, Lord, bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a shield.”

Because of Jesus, you are in right standing with the Father. That means you walk today shielded by His favor. It surrounds you. It covers you. It protects you from fear, rejection, and the lies of the enemy.

Favor Isn’t Earned. It’s Inherited.

God’s favor isn’t about striving or performing. You don’t have to chase it, prove yourself for it, or earn it by being “good enough.” Favor is your inheritance as a son or daughter of the King.

Proverbs 8:35 says:
“For the fountain of life pours into you every time that you find me, and this is the secret of growing in the delight and favor of the Lord.” (TPT)

When we seek wisdom, when we look to Jesus, we are opening ourselves up to receive His delight and blessing. Favor flows not because of what we’ve done, but because of who we belong to.

What Does God’s Favor Look Like in Real Life?

God’s favor is not abstract. It shows up in everyday ways:

  • People are glad to see you.
  • Your work is honored and appreciated.
  • Opportunities open unexpectedly.
  • Friendships deepen and blessings flow.
  • You find yourself positioned to bless others freely.

Beloved, your faith is the spark that activates these promises. When you believe that His favor surrounds you, you begin to notice it everywhere.

With Favor Comes Responsibility

Psalm 84:11 reminds us:
“For the Lord is a sun and shield; He bestows favor and honor. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

Walking this path doesn’t mean perfection. It means living with a heart aligned to His, walking in love, humility, and generosity. God’s favor is a gift, but it’s also an influence that touches those around you.

With great favor comes great responsibility: you are blessed to be a blessing. The fragrance of His favor is meant to spill over into every conversation, every encounter, every act of kindness.
