Letting Go and Embracing the Harvest

Good morning, beloved. As autumn settles in, I can’t help but pause and give thanks for the season we’re in. The mornings are cooler, the leaves are shifting from green to gold, and the crisp air carries whispers of change. 🍂

The other day, I went outside to shut off the outside water valves before the first frost. It reminded me of how much I’ve had to learn in recent years, things I never thought about before. As I worked, I watched the leaves fall gently to the ground and felt the Lord whisper: “It’s time to let things go.”

Just as the trees release what no longer serves them, we too are invited to release the weight we’ve been carrying. Gratitude becomes the doorway to peace. When we let go in love, we allow the Spirit to wash over us with a new calm, a reminder that the Father’s goodness never leaves us.

A Season of Harvest

Autumn isn’t only about letting go, it’s also about gathering in. Psalm 126 reminds us:

“Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.”

Maybe you’ve walked through seasons of sacrifice, giving when it hurt, showing up for others when your own heart felt empty, sowing kindness in the midst of sorrow. Beloved, the Father saw every seed. And His promise is that those tears are not wasted. The time of harvest is here.

It’s a shift of perspective, choosing to believe that blessing is on its way. Where you sowed in brokenness, He is preparing joy. Where you labored in weariness, He is preparing strength.

Living the Prayer

As we move through this new season, I’ve been reminded of the prayer Jesus taught us: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Heaven is full of light, peace, and abundance. Praying this way is inviting those very qualities into our homes, our relationships, and our daily lives.

And just as the trees release their leaves, we can release our worries, our disappointments, our heavy burdens…making room for Father’s kingdom to come alive in us.

Something to Ponder

  • What would it look like for you to let go this season…softly, like leaves falling?
  • Where have you sown in tears, and how can you begin to expect joy in return?
  • How can you invite Father’s kingdom into the very places that feel hardest right now?

A Closing Word

Beloved, you are not forgotten. This is your season to see the goodness of God unfold. As you walk outside and see the leaves falling, let them remind you: the past is being released, and a new harvest is coming. 🌾

I’d love to hear what this season means to you. Join me over on Facebook where we continue the conversation together. You are continually in my prayers and forever in my heart.
