Good morning, beloved. What a gift it is to begin another day together. As I prayed over you today, one phrase kept rising to the surface…Take Him at His Word.
I don’t know what you’ve been carrying in prayer. Maybe it’s a loved one you long to see come to the Lord. Maybe you’ve been praying for healing, financial provision, or restoration in a marriage that feels tied in knots. Perhaps it’s tormenting thoughts, a dead-end job, or the deep ache of waiting for the right partner God has for you. Whatever your heart is crying out for, the invitation this morning is the same: trust Him enough to take Him at His Word.
Facing the Fear of Disappointment
As soon as I sensed this, I also became aware of something else—the fear of disappointment. That little whisper that says, What if I believe and nothing happens?
But beloved, those doubts and fears are not from the Father. They are planted by the enemy, whose aim has always been to weaken faith and accuse God of withholding good things from His children. That lie goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden.
Scripture reminds us in 2 Corinthians 1:20: “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through Him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.” Every promise is a yes. Our part is to say amen—so be it.
Moving Mountains With Faith
Jesus spoke about this so clearly in Mark 11:23–24:
“Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].”
Mountains move when faith is spoken. Not when we hedge our prayers with fear, or when we put off our hope into some vague “someday,” but when we believe that God is both able and willing to act.
Taking Your Heart Honestly to the Father
If doubt and fear have been holding you back, here’s a gentle step you can take today: go to the Father with full honesty. Lay out every detail of what you’re praying for, including your motives and your struggles. Ask Him, “What is hindering me from receiving this?”
Don’t come in anger or accusation—come in humility and openness. He will answer. He will speak into your heart with the voice of love. And His love always speaks truth, because truth sets us free.
As Hebrews reminds us, we are invited to come boldly before the throne of grace, not timidly. Boldly doesn’t mean brash—it means confidently, knowing that the sacrifice of Jesus has already opened the way for us to receive mercy and find grace in our time of need.
The Son of Man and Persistent Faith
Jesus Himself raised this question in Luke 18:7–8:
“And will not God defend and protect and avenge His elect, who cry to Him day and night? Will He delay help on their behalf? I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”
The promise is clear—God will answer, and He will act speedily. The question is not whether He will move, but whether He will find faith in us when He comes.
A Closing Encouragement
Beloved, the Father is not withholding good things from you. If your prayers have felt delayed, don’t mistake delay for denial. The enemy wants to use fear, doubt, and disappointment to weaken your faith. But the truth is that your testimony is being written, and when the answer comes, it will bring glory to God and encouragement to many others.
So today, choose to take Him at His Word. Let faith rise above fear, and let love silence the lies of disappointment. He is faithful. He is good. And He will never fail you.
