From Mornings with Tess – August 18, 2025
Have you ever felt unsure about whether you’re truly being led by God?
This morning, I shared something that came through clearly during a quiet time of prayer: The Father is guiding you—gently, faithfully, and with Divine precision.
One of the images that came during that sacred time was of the earth itself—rotating on its axis so gently, so fluidly, that we don’t even notice it’s moving. If it weren’t for the changing light of the sun, the shifting moon, or the rhythm of the seasons, we’d never even know.
And yet, we trust the movement is happening.
That same gentle motion is how the Father moves in your life.
“The steps of a good man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way; He busies Himself with every step.” – Psalm 37:24
He’s Always Working—Even When We Can’t See It
Another image that came was a sundial, and how its shadow moves as time moves—because the earth is moving. The sundial only reflects what’s already happening behind the scenes. In the same way, God’s hand is always at work, guiding us, shifting things on our behalf, even when we don’t feel it.
Scriptures that came forward in this moment were full of promise and reassurance:
- “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you.” – Psalm 32:8
- “But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth.” – John 16:13
- “He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way. All the paths of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep His covenant.” – Psalm 25:9–10
His Path Is Marked by Love
Beloved, the Lord’s path always bears His signature—loving, faithful, gracious, and true. He doesn’t push, force, or confuse. He guides with gentleness, like the rhythm of the earth itself.
Another passage I was prompted to share comes from the Amplified Classic Edition:
“Come to Me… for My yoke is wholesome, useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing—but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant. And My burden is light and easy to be borne.” – Matthew 11:28
When we feel overwhelmed or pressured, that’s often a sign we’ve picked up a yoke that isn’t His. I know I can tell when I’m under my own yoke—when I become sharp, impatient, or anxious. But His way always leads to rest, peace, and trust.
He Meets You Where You Are
Remember Gideon and the fleece? God didn’t scold him for needing reassurance—He met him exactly where he was. And He’ll do the same for you.
So today, cultivate a deep assurance in your heart:
You are being guided.
Even if it’s quiet.
Even if you don’t feel it.
Even if the path seems still.
If He can move the entire planet with such gentle grace…
He’s moving you, too.
