As we were praying this morning, a very clear image came to our hearts.
This season is not a casual skirmish…it is a sword fight.
Scripture tells us that the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. If that is our weapon, then the question becomes important and urgent:
What is the enemy fighting with?
The answer is simple and sobering.
The enemy’s weapon is lies.
Identifying the Enemy’s Sword
Jesus made it clear in John 8:44 that the enemy does not stand in truth. There is no truth in him. When he speaks, he speaks lies because lying is his native language.
So if the enemy’s sword is lies, then discernment becomes essential.
Not every thought deserves your attention.
Not every report deserves your agreement.
Not every feeling reflects truth.
This is why Scripture urges us to become deeply familiar with truth itself.
It’s like the way investigators learn to spot counterfeit money, they don’t study the fake. They study the real so thoroughly that the false is immediately obvious.

Putting On the Full Armor of God
Ephesians 6 reminds us that we are up against far more than we can handle on our own. God never intended for us to fight spiritual battles with human strength or reasoning.
Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are not abstract ideas.
They are weapons meant to be applied.
Truth anchors you when confusion rises.
Righteousness guards your heart from condemnation.
Peace stabilizes your steps when circumstances shake.
Faith protects you when lies are hurled at you.
Salvation reminds you who you are and whose you are.
And above all, the Word of God is indispensable.
Prayer is not optional in this fight. It is essential. Prayer keeps your spirit alert, grounded, and strengthened so you don’t grow weary or fall behind.
Taking Thoughts Captive
Second Corinthians 10 tells us something crucial.
The battlefield is often the mind.
We are instructed to take every thought captive, every argument, every reasoning, every imagination that exalts itself above the knowledge of God, and bring it into obedience to Christ.
That means we do not allow lies to linger.
We do not entertain discouragement.
We do not make agreements with fear.
If a thought does not align with what God says about you, your future, or His promises, it is not neutral. It is an enemy.
This Is Not the Time to Nurse Wounds
One of the strongest impressions that came during prayer was this.
This is not the season to nurse old wounds.
Unhealed offense and unresolved hurt can quietly poison your spirit. They distort perception, weaken faith, and make you vulnerable to deception.
This is a time for cleansing.
A time to release old hurts to the Lord.
A time to forgive, receive forgiveness, and walk again in Christlikeness.
God’s Word is truth. And truth heals.
Standing Firm in Truth
If Jesus said you are going to the other side of this storm, believe Him.
If He said ask and it will be given, count on it.
If He said truth will set you free, stand on that truth.
Question every discouraging report.
Challenge every fearful thought.
Refuse to keep company with anything that undermines faith, joy, or trust in God.
Lies will show you no mercy.
So do not show them mercy.
Lift the shield of faith.
Wield the sword of the Spirit.
Stand firm in truth.
And know this…you are not fighting alone.
We are praying with you, standing with you, and believing with you.
