The foolish ones don’t plan for waiting. When the moment arrives, they scramble to get ready, and they miss the entrance.

- Father, I ask for all the resources I need to accomplish Your will in my life – be released into my circumstances today.
- Give me the clarity to be wise and wisely prepared.
- Show me what I need to gather now – so I’m ready when the time comes.

Nehemiah’s Example of Prepared Faith
Nehemiah is one of the clearest pictures in Scripture of faith paired with preparation.
He doesn’t rush in with passion only. He prays, fasts, weeps, repents, and gets clear. Then, when the king asks what he wants, Nehemiah is ready.
Here’s what stands out about his readiness.
- He knows how long he needs
- He asks for letters to travel safely through regions
- He requests materials for the rebuild
- He plans for housing while he works
- He carries himself like someone who respects the assignment
And then God adds what Nehemiah didn’t even ask for – protection and provision beyond his request.
You’re Already Near the People Who Can Help You
A line keeps repeating in prayer, you are in the presence of those who can grant what you need to proceed.
That’s a big deal.
But when the moment comes – the meeting, the opening, the invitation, the ask – you want to be ready to respond with wisdom, not panic.
Preparedness isn’t “trying to impress people.” Preparedness is stewardship.

- What tools or resources are needed
- What training or support is missing
- What timeline is realistic
- What your next 3 steps are
3) Don’t go to the “well” twice
When you’re asking a decision-maker for support, go in prepared.
Not perfect…prepared.
People who hold resources look for signs of responsibility. They want confidence that what they give won’t be wasted.
4) Watch out for time-wasters
If you’ve been drained by doing everyone else’s jobs, it can dull your edge.
This season calls for focus. Protect your preparation time like it matters, because it does.
A Loving Wake-Up Call
If you’ve felt sleepy, dulled, or quietly discouraged – you’re not alone.
But this word feels like a holy nudge; wake up, get your energy back, and prepare like the door is about to open.
